Eve Hammer was born in New York City and grew up in Long Beach, NY. She studied fine arts, printmaking and photography at California College of the Arts in Oakland, California and later focused primarily on drawing and painting at School of Visual Arts in New York City. She took time out to be a stay at home mom to her son who was born in 2011. Then, moved back to her hometown in 2013 where she worked on a community playground painting and rebuilding effort after the damage from Hurricane Sandy. In 2014, the cookbook titled “Harold Dieterle's Kitchen Notebook” which included 108 of her original illustrations was published. She put on her own solo shows both in 2014 and 2018 in Long Beach, and in 2019 was honored as a “Woman in the Arts” from the non-profit organization, Artist’s in Partnership, Inc. And in 2020, she was named one of Heckscher Museum’s Emerging Artists for the year. In 2021 she exhibited three pieces at Artwhirl gallery in a group show titled “Oceana/Local Love”. In 2022, Eve was accepted to Hecksher Museum X BIG INK Collaboration for Woodblock printing, and in both 2022 and 2023, she exhibited in Patchogue Arts Council’s M.O.C.A L.I.ghts projected light display event. In 2023, Eve was awarded an individual artist grant from NYSCA through Huntington Arts Council and had a solo show at the Long Beach Historical Society showcasing 17 original new works.
