Eve Hammer, a New York City native, grew up in Long Beach, NY. She studied fine arts, printmaking, and photography at California College of the Arts in Oakland before focusing on drawing and painting at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. After the birth of her son in 2011, she took time as a stay-at-home mom, later returning to Long Beach in 2013. There, she contributed to a community playground restoration project following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. In 2014, Eve illustrated Harold Dieterle's Kitchen Notebook, contributing 108 original drawings to the cookbook. She held solo exhibitions in Long Beach in 2014 and 2018 and was honored as a "Woman in the Arts" by Artist's in Partnership, Inc. in 2019. In 2020, she was named one of Heckscher Museum’s Emerging Artists of the year. Eve’s work has continued to evolve with exhibitions such as "Oceana/Local Love" at Artwhirl Gallery in 2021 and her participation in Heckscher Museum’s BIG INK woodblock printing collaboration in 2022. She has also exhibited in Patchogue Arts Council’s M.O.C.A L.I.ghts projected light display in both 2022 and 2023. In 2023, Eve was awarded an individual artist grant from the NYSCA through Huntington Arts Council and had a solo exhibition at the Long Beach Historical Society, showcasing 17 original works. In July 2024, Eve held a solo exhibition at Point Lookout Yoga & Wellness, and she was featured in the Resurgence & Ecologist magazine (March/April 2024 issue) with an image used for an article.With a strong commitment to both her art and community, Eve’s creative practice continues to evolve, fueled by a desire to connect with others through her work and explore new avenues of artistic expression.
